One of our favourite parts of the year is the summer school holidays! The sun is shining, the sky is blue and there are plenty of things for kids to enjoy here in Adelaide
Needing inspiration for things to do and places to visit? Here are some of our favourite spots around the city centre…
We simply couldn’t go past the Adelaide Zoo! From roaring lions to cuddly pandas, the zoo is a fun day out for the whole family. It is the second oldest zoo in Australia and is conveniently located in the CBD parklands. The zoo is also home to over 300 species of animals, which means you can spend a good couple of hours there.
South Australian Museum
Visiting the South Australian Museum is a great way to learn about history, and it certainly has something for everyone. Explore Egyptian mummies, dinosaur bones, Aboriginal art and culture, and more. Don’t forget to check out the famous giant squid!
P.S. Another great museum pop up is MOD – it’s free entry and you can find more about it here!
Adelaide Botanic Gardens
If you’re looking for the perfect picnic location in the CBD, we’ve found it! The Adelaide Botanic Gardens is a picturesque spot in the city. Bring your favourite variety of sandwiches and chill out with your little ones.
Not for the faint of heart (or for those afraid of heights), TreeClimb is the first aerial adventure park in the Adelaide CBD. They have several courses available, including a kid’s course.
The park that TreeClimb is situated in also includes a BMX track, basketball and netball courts, and much more. So, there’s plenty to do once you’ve finished your course!
One for the footy fans! AFL Max is Australia’s first footy skills, education and entertainment centre. Kids can test their climbing skills, practice their passing and tackling, and even jump around on trampolines. It’s a whole lot of fun and will keep the little ones entertained for hours.
Adelaide Aquatic Centre
The Adelaide Aquatic Centre has been a school holiday go-to for years, and it’s easy to see why. Rain, hail or shine, the venue is a great day out for the whole family.
The Bush Magic Playground is also nearby, which is great for younger children who can enjoy several interactive play elements.
